Mr Tim Larner is a consultant urological surgeon at the Brighton
and Sussex University Hospitals Trust.
He qualified from Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School and
completed higher surgical training through the Guys Hospital specialist
registrar rotation.
He spent 2 years working in the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Australia
where he learnt laser surgery for the prostate and published the
first day case series for Holmium laser prostatectomy.
He is accredited by the Specialist Advisory Committee in Urology
and has been awarded his Certificate of Completion of Specialist
Training by the Specialist Training Authority of the Medical Royal
Colleges. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
His specialist interests include laser therapy for benign prostatic
hyperplasia (BPH), pelvic cancer (bladder
and prostate) and laparoscopic nephrectomy (key-hole kidneys).
He regularly trains both British and overseas doctors in PVP and
has given presentations on the technique at the annual conference
of the British Association of Urologists, The American Urological
Association and at meetings in India and Spain.
